My Art Story
My passion for art began at an early age. From the moment I could hold a writing utensil, I was creating. I didn’t always understand where it was acceptable to draw, which occasionally led to furniture becoming my canvas (sorry, Mom)!
From preschool through senior year of high school, art was always my favorite subject. If there was an art elective available, I took it. My favorite class was Advanced 2D Art, where I was challenged to try new techniques and push myself creatively, resulting in some of my favorite pieces I’ve ever created.
I have had the privilege of entering artwork in the Prairie Arts Council, the Indiana Connection REMC Cooperative Student Art Contest, and exhibits at the county fair in the 4-H Building and Domestic Arts Building. Over the years, I have been grateful to receive several awards, including Honorable Mention in the REMC Cooperative Student Art Contest, an Award of Excellence in the Prairie Arts Council Regional High School Art Show, Best of Show (Entire Body of Work) in high school, Champion Adult Work (Original) in the Domestic Arts Building, and Grand Champion Photography in the 4-H Building.
My God Story
Before Christ
I grew up in a Christian home and attended church occasionally. I knew about Jesus and could have told you His story, but I didn’t yet understand what His death on the cross meant for me personally.
How I Met Christ
It wasn’t until the summer of 2020 that everything changed for me. I was a junior in high school when COVID-19 sent us home in March. During that time, I spent a lot of time on TikTok and came across a video of a girl explaining the four Gospel accounts. I resonated most with her explanation of John, which led me to read the entire book. This was the first time I had ever read the Bible for myself! I had heard John 3:16 before, but something about reading it on the page made it come to life! In that moment, I knew I wanted to believe in Jesus with my whole heart!
How I Met Christ Continued
It wasn’t until college, when I joined a campus ministry, that I began to fully live for Christ. I gained accountability partners and mentors who helped me grow in my faith. Through a spring break mission trip, God transformed my heart, opening it to the lost and igniting a desire to share Jesus with others!
After Christ
Life is not perfect, and I don’t claim to have everything together. I still struggle at times with anxiety and depression. However, in Christ I have experienced the peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and joy even in the midst of trials (James 1:2).
Behind the Brand
After receiving Christ and continuing to take art classes, I began to feel that God was calling me to create art for Him. After seven years, I am finally stepping into that calling God has placed on my life.
Still Meadows Studio LLC was inspired by Psalm 23, which says: ‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.’ (Psalm 23:1–3, ESV)
My prayer is that through my artwork, God would receive all the glory, and that even one person might come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.
